ALF Administration Core Training Program

Laurel Senior Living Education measures our success across these 4 goals for the Core Training Program:

  1. Provide an understanding of overall ALF administration
  2. Prepare adult learner to take Florida’s ALF Competency Test
  3. Maintain engagement during the learning experience
  4. Teach the mandatory areas of competency outlined in the ALF Minimum Core Training Curriculum outline (AHCA Form 3180-1038)

Students who complete our eLearning Core Training Program are asked to rank the usefulness of the learning experience in meeting these goals:

Provide an understanding of overall ALF administration

As a preparation for taking Florida’s ALF Competency Test

To maintain engagement during the learning experience

For learning the areas of competency outlined in the ALF Core Training Curriculum outline

Competency Test Passage Rates

The Agency for Health Care Administration monitors Florida’s ALF Administrator Core Trainers and student passage rates are posted online.  Although, taken alone, student passage rates are not a perfect method for evaluating the effectiveness of a Core Training Program, passage rates do give some idea, over time, of how well a Core Trainer and their program content is performing.

Passage rates for Core Trainers are posted on the Agency’s database, www.FloridaHealthFinder.gov. Select ALF Core Training Provider from the Facility/Provider dropdown menu.
